Cool Neighborhoods in Ottawa

topic posted Fri, November 3, 2006 - 10:56 AM by  Abigale
Hi, I'm thinking of attending Le Cordon Bleu next year and I'd like advice on where I should live. Preferably something young, good restaurants & bars, close to places to buy good quality food. I will also be sans car and I'm not sure what the scoop is on public transportation in Ottawa so something closer to the school would probably be best. Thanks for your replies! AA

I would recommend the Market area of Ottawa:
    maps.google.ca/

Sandy Hill (walking distance to market, but more of a university crowd) and right around the school (on Laurier):
    maps.google.ca/

Or,Centretown (still walking distance, but further)
    maps.google.ca/

All three of these areas are within a reasonable walk of the school, which I walked past recently enough. Currently, I live in the market area, and used to live in Sandy Hill many years before that. Otherwise, I have lived in the near East end (St. Laurent Blvd) and the Hintonburg area (near Wellington & Parkdale). If you have more specific questions let me know.
